iLINOVA contributes to the success of Seeds of Gold magazine

The publication seeks to give insights on agriculture and showcase new technology in agriculture as a way of encouraging more people, especially the youth and professionals, toengage in farming. Egerton University has involved a team of professionals from various fields of Agriculture to aid in information and technology dissemination through articles and offering expert advice on challenges farmers face in their agri-business enterprises. iLINOVA is part of the ‘Seeds of Gold Magazine’ team through its Science and Technology Desk which disseminates relevant and demand-driven innovative livestock technologies to improve agricultural productivity.

The positive impact the magazine has had on farmers and the sector in general made it receive recognition from the Commonwealth Association of Polytechnics (CAPA) in December, 2014 in Entebbe, Uganda. Seeds of Gold Magazine was honoured for promotion of agricultural ventures, youth employment and economic development in Africa. The Magazine scooped an award in its first year of operation.

iLINOVA has made significant contribution to the magazine’s success through consistent publication of articles and providing expert advice on matters concerning livestock productivity. The programme has published on various livestock technologies such as use of artificial insemination on poultry species and dairy goats to enhance breeding and reproductive management, application of hydroponic technology on fodder production for sustainable livestock production, innovative practices in dairy goat management, and effective management of poultry waste through biogas system.
